Our neighbouring city of Birgu (Vittoriosa) hosts the yearly event Birgufest which also includes the famous Birgu by Candlelight. This year it will be held between 11th and 13th October 2019. The medieval streets of the city makes it possible to enjoy different experiences such as historial reenactments, concerts and you can have a candlelight dinner within the fortified walls of the city. All the streets and houses are lit up with candles, hanging chandeliers and street entertainment throughout the winding pathways.

Most museums of the city are open at a discounted price, including the magnificent architectural gem of Fort St Angelo. However it’s always free to peep into the beautiful houses of the Collachio area as locals open their doors for us the enjoy the typical old Maltese houses lit up by candles.
