The Only Festa in Winter

Just before the start of the Christmas period, our city Cospicua celebrates the feast of the Immaculate Conception on 8th December. This is the only feast celebrated in the winter months as all other villages celebrate their patron saint during summer.

However this doesn’t stop the locals from celebrating their feast like no other, with street decorations, fireworks, band marches and processions. The Collegiate Church is also worth visiting as it dresses up for numerous church functions during the week preceding the feast, including the traditional novena (9 days) mass starting at 5am.

Booking your stay at The Lodge during festa week is like living with the locals this special time of the year. Located a couple of minutes away from the main square and the Parish Church, you’ll surely get a first hand experience of how a traditional Maltese festa is celebrated.
